Dr Shifa Zulkifli graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the Kulliyyah of Medicine, International Islamic University of Malaysia in 2003. Then, she underwent basic medical and surgical training in various disciplines including primary care for 4 years before joined ORL-HNS as resident in 2007. She completed her ORL-HNS residency training and graduated with Master of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery from University Science Malaysia in 2013. She was accredited as a otorhinolaryngologist-head and neck surgeon by the Malaysian Medical Council and National Specialist Registry in 2013. She started as general ORL-H&N surgeon for 3 years in Malaysia and was trained in various subspecialty before pursuing her interest in paediatric otorhinolaryngology. Because of excellent services given within the public sector, she was offered another scholarship by the Malaysia Ministry of Health to undergo 3 years of Paediatric Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery Fellowship (2016-2018). She completed her clinical fellowship under various prominent paediatric ORL supervisors including Dato Dr Siti Sabzah, Prof Dr Goh Bee See in various hospitals within Malaysia for 2 ½ years before pursuing 9 months clinical attachment in Great Ormond Street Hospital, London under Mr David Albert, a distinguished paediatric otologist and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Centre, Ohio, USA with Dr Michael Rutter and Dr Robin Cotton, an eminent expert in paediatric airway. Following completion of fellowship, she currently worked in Kuala Lumpur Hospital as Paediatric ORL-HNS Consultant and is the Head of ORL-HNS Unit in Women and Children’s Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
