Herman Kingma was born in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He obtained hismaster degreein biology and physics at Amsterdam University and PhD in Biophysics in Leiden.
At current he is emiritus professor in Clinical Vestibulology at the department of ORL and Head and Neck Surgery, Maastricht University Medical Centre. The Department of Balance Disorders of the ORL-HNS department is tertiary reference centre, where fundamental and applied research is established as well as advanced clinical diagnostics. Since May 2014, he is also full professor in Medical Physics at the Faculty of Physics and Biomedicine of Tomsk State University of the Russian Federation (TSU), and head of the Medical Physics Laboratorium of the Faculty of Physics and chair of the Taskforce Russia of Maastricht University
Herman Kingma is a regular (key note) lecturer, teacher and organizer of symposia, workshops and teaching courses worldwide. Herman Kingma contributed to more than 120 international peer reviewed WI-1 international publications in biophysics and medical sciences. His primary research focuses on the development of the vestibular implant.
